A log works best when you can maintain it. Start with the date, activity, and time spent. Add a short note if there’s something worth remembering.

Record what happened.

Use plain language. “Changed the time because work ran late” can be more useful for planning than a page of numbers you never revisit.

Look back once a week.

Notice which time slots worked and what interrupted them. Adjust the schedule around what you learn instead of rewriting the entire plan.

Keep it easy to find.

A notebook, a phone note, or a simple spreadsheet can work. Choose the format you’ll actually open.

For your next session, record the date, activity, time spent, and one useful note. Review those entries at the end of the week.
